corroded #16. routine, for once.

It turns out Chief isn't getting released that soon. And Joel came back to find a family in his house, which shocked him a bit, well a lot, but in the past few days it's become routine for all of us. I get Sam to school in the morning, then come back, and we spend a lot of downtime because until Cody's dad starts the new project in the spring there's only little things here and there, which means we get to catch up on each other's movies while cuddling.
Roger calls me once or twice a day to restart a furnace, which I think I still make him nervous, well after all I guess in this small of a town it's not really secret I'm basically the boss's son now. Only time that sucked was when I got doused with ice water cos the pipes burst and even before Roger could I got it shut off quick. I ran home and Cody put me in the shower and it was just us home then and fuck I think we almost broke some tiles cos it'd been a few days since we fooled around much, he acted all calm then next I know there's soap in the right places and he's in me and asks if it hurts.
'More,' I say cos it hurts a little but the times he's gotten rough I loved it, and he's fucking me so intense it's all I can do not to squirt. So I turn it around on him and push him down and make him take all of me in his mouth and he's kinda choking a bit on the water but I can tell he's into it, but boy did I pay for it cos I shot in his mouth and kept it in then he spins me around and got me on all fours trying to keep my breath while he finishes and fuck it went on so long we just fell back and sat in the shower which is cold by now and laughed so I said wait here and I ran down in the freezing cellar to switch to the backup water heater. And it was steam and vodka and slow sex after that. I don't know why but no matter how rough or how soft it is, it's always perfect and fuck he just takes his time now, I light a cig with my dry hand and keep it out of the shower while I ride him...there's just no better feeling in this world. I give him a drag and it's getting so steamy in here I can't see shit but I hear him gasp and whatever control I had just goes away. He flops a bit with with his wet hair across my chest and is whispering to me before I realize Joel walked in. He acts embarrassed and I say 'oops' and fuck okay both of us are a bit smashed so we start laughing and all he can say is 'you're paying the hot water bill' with an embarrassed flinch away cos we're pretty much sprawled on the floor. And Cody shuts off the shower and it's chilly here so he wraps us in an oversized soft towel which is exactly how I feel about us together. Cody gets Joel to watch Sam that night so we just pull the fluffy comforter off the bed and cuddle in it and watch movies and this is so nice.
We haven't told Joel but I think he kinda figured one day when it was just me and Cody we did our own little ceremony which was nice. I think we're wearing the hot tub out, we're out there so much, not even having sex most nights anymore, just talking and dreaming and cuddling.
Sam's gotten used to being here so after that first night he hasn't complained about nightmares, Cody makes him breakfast while I make him a bag lunch, of course PB&J, and we switch off making dinners. I guess Joel likes this also cos he hasn't had to cook once since I moved in.
After school, I drive Sam to the hospital so he can see Chief, who's not looking so good and I'm worried about him. The other cops stop by with food and such and thank us, no one asking questions or really seeming all that curious thank god, prolly cos somehow since we started taking care of Sam he's doing a lot better in school and always seems cheerful. Though the kid is seriously addicted to Warcraft.
We get a night a week where Joel takes care of everything, it's our date night I guess, and sometimes we just go to the coffee shop and get food and go get a movie or sometimes we drive up to the overlook with a blanket and wrap ourselves in it while lying on the hood of the car and watch the stars. Well, okay, most times we do more than just watch the stars but that's kinda private, you know, it feels like that now.
Sometimes we come back early and Sam's still up and one time he just came right out and said 'did you enjoy your date?' which Cody almost fainted but I just said 'yeah' and he's like 'you guys are the coolest I've ever met.'
We're like a family for now, a real one, a right one, and I love it.
And ya it wears us out a bit but crawling into bed now it occurs to me it's not just Sam's nightmares that have stopped.
